What can we do to tackle Air Pollution and cleanse lungs

  1. Do pranayama (yoga) early in the morning, avoid polluted area. Air in the early morning is less polluted than other time of the day. Sit in any comfortable posture like Sukhasan, Vajrasan and Padmasan with back and neck straight. Inhalation and exhalation should be through your nostrils only. Keep your eyes closed.  Following  two pranayama are very effective for lung cleansing:

    • Kapalbhatti Kriya :


  2. Wear a mask : Anti Pollution masks filter dust, gases, pollen and other organic vapors thus protects from various respiratory problems or breathing allergies.


  3. Add following foods in your diet :

All living beings on earth have magnetic field (one of four fundamental forces in nature) which encircle them  in the similar way the magnetic field surrounds the Earth as its protector. This magnetic field around us is also referred as aura, Chi, Ki, Prana, Gaia and Ether. In most of the God paintings We see energy around their body and flowing to us to give us blessings, which forces me to think that its nothing else but electro magnetic energy or magnetically charged particles that heals us.  It is also true there is some magnetic fields around ancient temples and when we go to temples, That energy cures lot of our problems.

My grandfather always use to have one spoon of castor oil with milk before sleep once / twice a week. At that time I did not know about health benefits it has, Only thing I knew was he drink it for good joints health and to keep his gut clear (due to constipation). He lived a very healthy life of about 90 years. So today looking at these modern days diseases, I recalled that castor oil bottle my grandfather use to keep with him and explored all the health benefits it can be used for :

It is a vegetable oil, and the plant is largely native to Africa and India. Other Names known are:

  1. Aamudamu
  2. Erandela
  3. Amanakku Enney
  4. Avanakkenna
  5. Rerira Tela
It has Anti-Inflammatory, antimicrobial, analgesic, antifungal and antibacterial properties. It contains omega-6 and 9 essential fatty acids, vitamin E in it.

Benefits:

  1. laxative effect for people with constipation due to ricinoleic acid in it. Take it only for maximum 3 days otherwise you can suffer with diarrhea. It can also be taken with orange juice, but not more than 2 ounces and drink warm water after 20 minutes followed by yogurt after an hour.
  2. For gastrointestinal disorders like Inflammatory bowel disease, Appendicitis, Colitis and Liver ailments.
  3. Labor Stimulation for pregnant women who have reached full-term.

But this ricin does not partition in to castor oil. So it is safe to have castor oil.

some people experience castor oil side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach discomfort and faintness. This can happen if you take consume it more than safe amount.

Some people can be allergic to it. So they can experience mild allergic side effects include itching, rashes, redness and a stinging sensation. Severe castor oil side effects include swelling of the face and throat, dizziness and difficulty of breathing.

Taking it regularly can deplete body's potassium and fluid leaving you dehydrated. So consume only once or twice a week or fort nightly.

Cough and cold does not seems to be a serious problem most of the time, But it can be irritating and annoying even if it is acute cough specially in case of kids.

Here I will list some very good home remedies for cough, which can give relief very quickly and can save your money and time as you can try them before going to doctor.

  1. Add some Turmeric and Carrom seeds (ajwain) in water and Inhaling steam of that water will help flush out mucus,  moisturizes dry irritated air passageways and soothes the throat. In case of kids, You can keep the steamer (humidifier) in room and moist all the room.

  2. Other very efficient remedy is listed below, use it 2-3 times a day :

    • 5 drop honey 
    • 2 drop ginger (adrak) juice
    • 3 drops neem (Azadirachta indica) juice
    • 6 drops gilloy (Tinospora cordifolia) 

  3. External massage on the throat area with ghee (clarified butter)  will moisturizes dry irritated throat and soothes it.

  4. Drink Ginger/turmeric and tulsi (Holy basil) tea. For Kids, Instead of plain milk add some ginger and tulsi leaves in milk.

  5. Take one tablespoon honey in lukewarm water mixed with less than 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. It is very helpful to cure chronic cough, cold and clears the sinuses.

  6. Drink plenty of water and try only warm water. It will prevent the mucus from thickening.

  7. Sleep With the Head Elevated. Cough results when mucus drips from the nose into the throat. This tends to grow worse at night when the body posture is conducive for such dripping. Sleeping with the head at a higher position helps to reduce such drainage and many people find this position helps reduce coughing at night and improves sleep.

  8. Jaggery is an age-old remedy to cure dry cough and cold. Keeping it in mouth will produce saliva, which helps clear throat and kill viruses / bacteria. Eating jaggery after meal with fennel seeds (saunf) also keep you away from cough and cold.

  9. If there is very thick and heavy mucus, then you can try pinch of Borax powder (suhaga / Tankan Bhasma) mixed with honey. It will clear all the mucus. But use it carefully as it is very acidic in nature. You can take twice a day at max and only for 2-3 day.

If even after these Home remedies cough persists then consult with doctor.

A hernia (rupture) occurs when an internal part of the body pushes through a weakness in the surrounding muscle or tissue wall. This article deals with abdominal hernias, where there is a weakness in the wall of the tummy (abdomen) which results in some of the contents within the abdomen pushing through (bulging) under the skin. Normally, the front of the abdomen has several layers comprising skin, then fat, then muscles, which all keep the guts (intestines) and internal tissues in place. If, for any reason, there is a weak point in the muscles then part of the intestines can push through. You can then feel a soft lump or swelling under the skin.

Prevention : 

  1. Do not let your body get overweight.
  2. Complete you daily need of nutrition.
  3. Don't let your muscles get weak.

How :

You should also include ginger and fennel  seeds in your diet to strengthen your digestion, which will balance the acid in your body. Excess of acid in the body is main cause of weakened bones and muscles.

  2. Urinate after having meals.
  3. Try not to exhaust your body and do not pick very heavy things with wrong body position.
  4. Do not wear very tight clothes.

  1. Take 4-5 leaves of eucalyptus tree,  Guava tree and mango tree each. Make its tea by boiling them in some water and drink.

There are some plants which are only good for oxygen they produce and many are there which are edible and provide us nutrients, keep us safe from viruses present in environment and purify air.

GOND KATIRA / TRAGACANTH GUM comes from a thorny shrub which is native to western Asia, Iraq, Iran and the Middle East. It is a tree gum like myrrh, frankincense and balm of Gilead, and can be used, along with the stems of the plant as incense.


Other Names : 

  • Hindi        - Gond Katira
  • English     - Tragacanth gum
  • Botanical  - Astragalus Gummifer
  • Bengali     - Katila
  • German    - Kutira Gummi
  • French      - Gomme Adragante
  • Arabic      - Katheera, Haloosiyaa
Gond Katira can be used to produce heat in body in winters or to cool down body in summers. It all depends on how you consume it.

Benefits : 

  1. It works as a cooling agent for our body and prevent us from heat stroke.
  2. Helps to get rid from constipation due to its purgative properties.
  3. Improves libido in men and is a good remedy for any type of sexual weakness.

In Winter : 

Fry and grind it effectively. Then, it can be added to many of the desserts (pinni, panjeere, laddoos) and some other items. In this way, it generates heat in the body.

The immense majority of overweight or obese children live in developing countries, where the rate of increase has been more than 30% higher than that of developed countries.

Without intervention, obese infants and young children will likely continue to be obese during childhood, adolescence and adulthood.


What are the Causes :

There are three main reasons :

  • Genetics
  • Lack of Physical Activity
  • Unhealthy Eating 

Other than that there are a few medical conditions (eg: hormones) which can make you overweight.

Many people say that it is our family history, But that is not true, those children may be at an increased risk of becoming overweight, but it can also be linked to family behaviour such as eating and activity habits, which gets inherited by child.

Risk of diseases in future :

  • High cholesterol
  • High blood pressure
  • Early heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Bone problems
  • Skin conditions such as heat rash, fungal infections, and acne
  • Low self esteem

Solution : 

Firstly you should support your child Morally. Never let him know that he is different. Do not say him change habits directly, instead all the family should change their habits, which will be adapted by your child automatically.

Physical Activities :

All the Family members should get involved in more physical activities. Arrange family activities that provide everyone with exercise, like walking, biking, or swimming and reduce the amount of time you and your family spend in long sitting and inactive activities, such as watching TV or playing video games.

Diet and Hunger :

For infants as per WHO:
  • early initiation of breastfeeding within one hour of birth
  • exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of life
  • the introduction of nutritionally-adequate and safe complementary (solid) foods at 6 months together with continued breastfeeding up to two years of age or beyond
Complementary foods should be rich in nutrients and given in adequate amounts. At six months, caregivers should introduce foods in small amounts and gradually increase the quantity as the child gets older. Young children should receive a variety of foods including meat, poultry, fish or eggs as often as possible. Foods for the baby can be specially prepared or modified from family meals. Complementary foods high in fats, sugar and salt should be avoided.

For School-aged children and adolescents :
  1. reducing the fat, sugar and salt content of complementary foods and other processed foods.
  2. increase consumption of fruit and vegetables, as well as legumes, whole grains and nuts;
  3. engage in regular physical activity (60 minutes a day).
Other Life style Tips :
  • Use of Warm water : Try to give your child warm water only instead of cold water
  • Do not force feed your child : All children have their own unique hunger patterns and it is important that we encourage the child to eat only when they are hungry and always try to give freshly cooked food to you child.
  • Use of seasonal vegetables : Its hard to develop initial taste of vegetables, But once your child starts eating it, They will start liking veggies by themselves and we all know how important are nutrients that are packed inside veggies.
  • Use of Clarified Butter (Ghee) : It helps to boost digestion, improves memory and concentration, build immune system and will keep your child away from constipation.
  • Use of Lemon and other fruits: First of all you should avoid fruit intake after meals and should try to give them empty stomach. Also avoid them along with milk, curd (Yogurt) and water. Doing so, will increase acidity and toxin build up in body. Having them in right way will improve intestinal and body immunity.
  • Massage : You should massage your child 30 minute before shower with oil of your choice like almond, sesame or mustard oil. Doing so will improve muscle strength cleansing of lymph node system to drain toxins and also immunity will get strengthen.
